Viola lutea
Mountain pansy
Viola lutea, Mountain Pansy, grows where heavy metals contamination is not too severe, but is still regarded as a metallophyte due to its abundance on many historic mining sites. 'Lutea' refers to yellow as can be seen in the yellow flowers here, but it is common to find blue variants of this plant and, sometimes mixed blue and yellow. Click here for mining page.
