Tenthredo temula, Sawfly. The Sawflies are classified in the insect order Hymenoptera, along with the bees, wasps and ants. Tenthredo temula adults resemble wasps as a form of defence. They feed on small insects and pollen and nectar from Hogweed, Heracleum sphondylium and other flowers. Larvae resemble butterfly caterpillars.
