Erysiphe platani

Sycamore Powdery Mildew

Erysiphe platani, Sycamore Powdery Mildew. A fungus parasitic on Sycamore, Acer pseudoplatanus leaves, noticeable as white patches on the upper leaf surface. The white patches are feeding hyphae, bearing reproductive spore forming structures called conidia. Appears to cause little harm to the tree. Thought to have been introduced from North America.
