Field Horsetail
Equisetum arvense, Field Horsetail. Simple spore bearing plants arising from extensive underground rhizomes. Reproductive shoots have cones, which are absent from non-reproductive shoots. Generally found on disturbed ground, near streams and roadside verges. More primitive than ferns.
