Dacrymyces stillatus

Common Jellyspot

Dacrymyces stillatus, Common Jellyspot. A widespread fungus associated with wood. Fruiting bodies usually visible during wet weather and appear as small (1-2mm) blobs of bright orange jelly. Spores are formed in microscopic club shaped structures called basidia (singular basidium) on the tips of hyphae.
