Yellow Fieldcap

Bolbitius titubans, Yellow Fieldcap. Small yellow toadstool of pasture, particularly manured land. Initially a definate yellow egg-shaped cap, soon fading and expanding as a dome. Later becoming flat and very pale. Only lasts a few days. A saprobe, i.e. feeds on decaying material, organic material in the soil in this case. Honey coloured spores.
