Beetles and Weevils are insects belonging to the order Coleoptera. They are distinguised by their fore-wings that are modified into hardened wing cases, flight being achieved by the hind-wings. They are incredibly numerous and make up 40% of known insects. Some beetles are aquatic, found in freshwater. Many are carnivorous, with large, biting mouthparts.
